Once upon a time I was alive
I was a human being
A man with dreams.
I was once married
Father to two smart children.
I had a smart and beautiful wife.
I once had a name
And people would address me with respect.
But those were the days I was still alive.
Now I am a dead man.
Because I didn’t survive the surgery.
No I didn’t even though I wanted it so bad.
Now my body is lain in the hands of the undertaker,
A man who opens my chest as if I were just a doll.
From the top of the room,
I could see everything happening to my body,
I could hear them calling me body,
No more identity, what a tragedy!
