I remember a time when we were still alive.
There was no cellphone, no social media
But we had such a beautiful life
We would hang out after class
Run for fun as we chased butterflies
With no fear for what others would say
Because we knew we were all the same.
I remember a time when we were still alive.
A time when nobody posts pictures of their foods for likes.
A time when we were content with our lives with no comparison at all.
Because we knew, every man for their shoes.
That’s the old good time when we were still alive.
I remember a time when we were still alive.
A time in history when reading a book was fun
‘Cause acquiring knowledge was a basic need
As we lived thousands of lives in just a lifetime.
And shared favorite moments of a book with mates.
I remember a time when we were still alive.
A time when there was no need for a bleach
neither for photoshop to accept what we look like.
A time when we were real and nobody fakes.
A time when every “I love you” was real
with no-why-or-interest-attached.
I remember a time when Mamma
Used to fix me good rice with crabs on rainy days.
Oh God, I loved it! I was seven.
Of course that’s the old good time. How I miss it!
